Once upon a time, a not-so-long time ago, I had a life that didn't revolve around children. I had uninterrupted time to myself, I rarely got up before 9am, and I was able to shower every day. It was a heady time of life, people. During this age of narcissism and free time I worked as a stand-up comedian. I told jokes to drunk strangers in return for either money or free pizza or "exposure". Sometimes I got heckled. Once, someone threw fruit at me. Mostly, people laughed. The life of a comedian is a roller coaster ride; it has the highest highs and the lowest lows.
So I guess you could say it was fantastic preparation for parenthood.
